Boron Nitride Plate/Sheet (H-BN Plate/Sheet) Description

Boron Nitride, also known as BN, hexagonal boron nitride (H-BN), and hot-pressed boron nitride, is a good self-lubricate ceramic that can withstand high temperature and maintain its lubricating capability in a high vacuum environment. Hexagonal boron nitride (H-BN) behaves similarly to graphite mechanically but offers excellent electrical resistance. Boron Nitride Plate/Sheet (H-BN Plate/Sheet) from Stanford Electronics is made from hot-pressed Boron Nitride Blank.

Boron Nitride Plate/Sheet (H-BN Plate/Sheet) Applications

Boron Nitride (BN) Plates and Sheets are highly valued for their exceptional thermal, chemical, and electrical properties, making them essential in various high-performance applications across multiple industries. In high-temperature furnaces, BN plates and sheets serve as insulating components and support due to their thermal stability and resistance to thermal shock. They are crucial in semiconductor manufacturing for wafer carriers, susceptors, and crucibles, ensuring purity and preventing contamination. In aerospace and defense, BN plates and sheets provide thermal management and serve as ablative materials in rocket nozzles. Chemical processing industries use BN in reactor linings, components, and insulating supports for their chemical inertness and resistance to corrosion. In electrical and electronic applications, BN plates and sheets act as insulating substrates and heat sinks, leveraging their dielectric properties and thermal conductivity. Optical systems benefit from BN’s thermal stability and non-reactive nature, using them for lens supports and holders. Analytical instruments, including mass spectrometers and electron microscopes, utilize BN for sample holders and probes, ensuring accuracy with their purity and inertness. They are also employed in metal and glass processing as mold and die components and support in annealing and sintering processes. BN plates and sheets are essential in vacuum systems for their low outgassing and thermal stability, and in medical and dental applications, they are used in prosthetic components and laboratory equipment for their biocompatibility and chemical resistance. Overall, BN plates and sheets are integral to advancing technological innovation and performance across various industries.

Boron Nitride Plate/Sheet (H-BN Plate/Sheet) FAQs

Q1: How is the Boron Nitride Plate/Sheet produced?

A1: Boron Nitride Plates and Sheets are typically produced by hot-pressing or sintering boron nitride powder at high temperatures. This process creates a dense, strong material with excellent thermal and electrical properties. The plates are then machined to the desired size and shape.

Q2: Can Boron Nitride Plates/Sheets be used in contact with molten metals?

A2: Yes, Boron Nitride is widely used in contact with molten metals due to its high thermal conductivity and resistance to chemical attack. It is commonly used in casting, metal processing, and other high-temperature applications involving metals like aluminum, copper, and iron.

Q3: What are the standard packaging options for Boron Nitride Plates/Sheets?

A3: Boron Nitride Plates and Sheets are usually packaged securely in custom boxes or crates to ensure safe delivery. The packaging is designed to protect the product from physical damage during transportation. Custom packaging can be arranged based on order size and shipping requirements.
